Mini-Workshop – Charlotte Sehmisch: Main Steps on how to make a Felted Fossil

SKILL LEVEL:  Intermediate

Participants should have prior knowledge of wet felting.  Ability to independently create a shingled sample using wool roving, and techniques needed to wet-felt the sample into a finished piece.

Participants will be taught Charlotte’s method for incorporating various geometric shapes and patterns in creating a wet-felted sample.

Supply Fee – $0

All participants need to bring:

– soap, towel
– a good pair of scissors
– fiber pen with Flexible Brush Style Tip such as in Eddings (brand) 3 different colors
– well felting wool, either tops or batt (roughly 8oz)
– resist material (footfall sound insulation, 2 mm or 5/64 inch)
– a sheet of paper
– a vessel for water
