Sharon Janda Grant – Summary
Sharon Janda, an active Guild member, was involved in many study groups and a supporter of its activities and workshops. Sharon passed away on December 31, 2014. Through the generosity of her husband Richard, the Guild received a substantial donation. We wish to commemorate Sharon through our use of the Sharon Janda Memorial Fund.
There are three overall objectives for the use of this fund:
- Honor Sharon Janda.
- Provide diverse educational opportunities that incorporate forward-looking, innovative fiber art ideas such as the use of new materials or state-of-the-art techniques.
- Benefit the Guild.
The Guild will award a grant of up to $3,000 annually to a study group, or other ad hoc group of Guild members, to organize an educational event for the benefit of at least 20 Guild members. The proposal period opens in January of each year, with proposals due by the close of March.
The proposal form can be completed online by clicking this link. If you prefer to complete and mail, download a form by clicking this link. Proposal forms are also available at the Guild’s January, February, and March meetings.
