Spend the afternoon learning a few basic hand stitches.  Experiment, stretch and play to see how even a few stitches can offer a wide variety of creative (and textural!) outcomes.

All participants to bring:

Pen/pencil for taking notes/drawing designs

Scissors – fabric and embroidery (small/sharp)

Disappearing or washable pens/pencils (purple or blue for white fabric, white for black fabric)

Glass head pins

Needle threader (if you need one)

Clear gridded plastic ruler (if you have one)

Optional: Rotary cutting tool, Self healing cutting mat, Task light, Magnifier

DMC floss (black,white, gray)

Thread heaven thread conditioner

Approx 9″ x 12″ pieces of cotton fabric (1 white, 1 black)

Commercial cotton B & W prints (scraps)

9″ x 12″craft felt to use as a stabilizer (2 pieces)

Assorted yarns
