Member Information for
Potomac Fiber Arts Guild Summer Sale and Social Gathering

This is a guild event where members and visitors restock their yarn stash, fabric supplies, and tools.  It’s also a time to share with fellow guild members, show and tell, and just fun times together.

Special Attractions:
Sale of items donated by our members: art, books, equipment.
Books, yarn, needles, fiber, fabric, looms, shuttles, bobbins, spinning wheels, drop spindles, combs, fiber processing tools, embroidery supplies.
As long as its clean, useable and fiber arts related it will all be accepted. 

This is your opportunity to de-stash and re-stash.
The sales is a fundraiser for the guild.

Please note, in order to simplify setup and cleanup, and increase the space for sale tables, there will NOT be a silent auction, pot luck, or fashion show.

Schedule of events:
Setup: 7:30-8:30 AM
Intake of donated items: 8:30-9;30 AM
Sale: 10:00 AM to Noon
Cleanup: Noon- 2:00 PM

What to bring:
Items you want to donate.
Equipment donations must be small enough to fit inside a car and in good working condition. Please use a tag to price larger items.
A bag or bags to hold your purchases
Credit Card, Debit Card, Checkbook or cash!

Other important information:
If you need to have water or a drink with you, please make sure your personal beverages are in a closed container.

We are in need of boxes for the book sale area.  These should be small enough for the books to stand up so people can flip through them to see the titles. As an example, copy paper boxes are an ideal size. If you have boxes available, please bring them to the sale.

Volunteer  Sign-Up: We need everyone’s help!

The sale is one of the guild’s largest events.  We need volunteers to run it. Please sign up.

Additional information on donations and items available for purchase:

Yarn, fiber and fabric will be sold by weight like we have done at previous sales.

Books will be a few dollars each, priced according to hardcover/paperback. Books that are more valuable will be individually priced, but still affordable!

Small equipment, tools etc. will be priced during the intake period starting at 8:30 AM.

Art Pieces/Large or specialty items – if you generously want to donate a piece of your art or a large or speciality item, we ask that you price it accordingly prior to bringing it to the sale. If the item isn’t sold and you (or a representative) are there at the sale, it can be collected after the sale ends at Noon.

Magazines / Patterns – We aren’t accepting magazines and patterns as part of the sale but feel free to bring them and put them on the table in the lobby for the magazine and pattern exchange. We’ll have a donation jar available if you want to contribute for anything

Cleanup!

The unsold items must be taken to other donation sites after the sale is over. If you are able to help with that effort, please reach out!!!
