Guild Meeting/Program: The Clothing of “Keep Me Warm One Night”

Using handwoven reconstructions of an 1840s chemise, corded petticoat and 1830s corset, and an 1860s dress in progress, this program explores women’s textile labor, heritage and material culture in nineteenth century North America. The process reveals the skill, time, and resources required to create garments often assumed to be simple.
